Anybody who uses the Cisco VPN client for the mac knows it has frequent problems and is very un mac like.
Lucky I found Shimo. Shimo still needs the Cisco VPN client installed to use its command line tools, but gives in a whole new lease of life such as:
… full Cisco compatibility
… growl support + notifications
… saves passwords in your keychain
… automatic (re-)connect on wakeup, network-changes, etc
… global shortcuts for fast connect/disconnect
Ive been having a much simpler time since using it, so if you have a Cisco VPN, grab it here
Microsoft finally released a beta version of a universal binary Remote Desktop client. Its seems ok so far, and although some of it is implemented in an odd way, it now does multiple sessions and works with Vista.
Grab it here
Also looking good as an opensouce terminal services client called Cord, doesnt seem to work with Vista yet, but looking good.
Grab that here

I’ve just found another location switcher for the mac called NetworkLocation It seems really good, although not freeware
If you didnt like any of the other applications listed on my previous post, it may be worth trying NetworkLocation
