In the final release of 10.5, Apple has now made an alternative dock look for when you place your dock on the side, but this can be activated with the dock at the bottom using the following command in terminal.defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES; killall DockThe dock will then restart and you will get the dark grey dock as above. just use the terminal command and change the yes to no to revert
